True to my word I arrived only moments after Don K. and we set up my AmigaOne complete with a mini-speaker sound system and set it playing Barrage, then went for food...and beer.
Big crowd with the surprise visit by Rodney McNeel. Seems he was done out of a $10 rebate form at the last visit to Fry's and couldn't justify a trip back there all the way from Creedmoor. However, it was President's Day and since Rodney is a Gov'ment man, the IRS let him out of his cubicle and he could double up by making this meeting AND going to Fry's. We voted to always have our February meeting on President's Day so that Rodney can visit. We cajoled Rodney into giving us an invite to Creedmoor on July 4th from where upon high we can view fireworks from several sources and enjoy Rodney's 2 acres of heaven.
The teenagers took over the AmigaOne while the rest of us jawed with Rodney. Then talk turned to John's impending work trip to..... Pampa, TX to dust off the computer equipment there and answer questions. John said the highlight of the trip will be the short break in Dublin, TX for especially sugared Dr. Pepper.
Sergei: "i played the alienblaster game. That was fun! Also played blobwars which probably was the best game of the evening! The new amiga is really cool!! The graphics were impressive! Everything else that i noticed like the workbench looked the same as the workbench on the older models of the amigas. The main thing is that i had LOTS OF FUN!!!..."
Don is getting more nibbles at job offers, but no hook to bite.
Charlie is steadily applying for a transfer from his zoning code enforcement division with the city of Austin to a job with "The Nature Center". Success remains in the future.
Late in the game Juan presented the group with suggestions for a logo change.
We made criticisms and Juan promised to get back to us with our improvements
in mind. You can watch the progress if you like at
